Turmeric an antiseptic, an antioxidant, an anticancer, blood purifier, skin glower and what not. Its a magical spice in the field of Ayurveda. It is the must spice in all Indian cuisines. The fresh roots of Turmeric are available in market and in Uttara Karnataka many farmers grow it as main crop and even we find people growing in their kitchen garden. Many interesting recipe are prepared out of Fresh rhizome of Turmeric, pickles is popular as everyone from children to old likes it.
Ingredients:
1. Raw Turmeric rhizome
2. Fresh Ginger
3. Lemon juice
4. Rock salt or Common salt.
Recipe:
1. Thoroughly wash the rhizomes to remove mud, peel out the skin. Slice into any shape of your choice.
2. Similarly wash, peel and slice Ginger into small pieces.
3. In a bowl take both slices of Turmeric and ginger, add lemon juice and rock salt as required.
4. Mix well and keep aside for 4-5 hours for nice blend.
5. Transfer into a Glass jar and store in cool place.
Benefits: It improves complexion of skin, helps in blood sugar control, cures Common cold and cough. It is a source of Iron so it is beneficial in anemia. It contains high dietary fiber so helpful in constipation.
